By trying to be like others, you can only hope at best… to be the second-best version of them. You can’t be better at being them, then them.
If you let others opinions dictate your behavior the best you could hope for is to live the life they want you to live, certainly not the life the is best for you; the life God has for you.
"Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10
By attempting to be fully yourself, you become something nobody could ever copy. You become infinitely rare. You are truly one of a kind—there has never been a you, and there will never be another you. This is even something an atheist would agree with, they just don’t understand why and the power in this fact.
God formed you, try your absolute best to lean into who you are and what He created—the irreplaceable infinitely rare you—would be a slap in the face to Him.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10
Fearlessly listen to what God has for you and chase it to the best of your abilities. Be as radically honest with yourself and others as you can. Note: Be sure your ambitions are fueled by a direct signal from God, this could be tricky. Do not deceive yourself.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
